Description:We are seeking a Project Engineer to join the Information Systems & Innovation (IS&I) organization. This role will be responsible for supporting the development and project engineering for our Technical Publications Data Conversion efforts. The successful candidate will be directly responsible for the development of innovative solutions developed in house combined with the use of commercial off the shelf (COTS) applications to map and migrate Technical Publications data sets from legacy MIL standards to S1000D standards which will be used in the Lockheed Martin NextGen Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM). The projects will vary in complexity and span multiple platforms. The successful candidate will leverage domain expertise from their respective Technical Publications authoring background to lead projects and/or segments of larger projects to be S1000D compliant.

Summary of Role
  • Provide technical leadership of legacy MIL Technical Publication Standards and/or S1000D Standards
  • Keep pace with enabling technologies and provide input to technology development plans
  • Participate in software reviews, produce schedule, agenda, meeting minutes collection, action items and resolution of action items
  • Interact with Technical Publication teams
  • Support all requirements issues related to the project
  • Review/QA all documents
  • Review software development team status reports and advise
  • Provide project related quality artifacts
  • Submit Weekly project Status Reports
  • Work with project Lead to gather, analyze, and document technical requirements
  • Contribute to the development of statements of work
  • Maintain a product backlog of team tasks
  • Track, monitor and report on project status (technical, schedule) throughout the data conversion lifecycle
  • Identify and act to meet all Legal and Export requirements
  • Work with Technical Lead to ensure compliance with all Lockheed Martin (LM) technical requirements
  • Work with Technical Lead to align technical/business objectives with products
  • Prepare test plans, test descriptions, test cases
  • Collect metrics related to quality and performance
  • Participate in regular telcons, Integrated Process Team meetings, and Technical
Interchange Meetings
  • Document and resolve customer issues
Basic Qualifications:
  • Degree in computer science or equivalent work experience developing Technical Data packages
  • Proficient in reading XML/html
  • Technical Publication authoring experience in MIL standards and/or S1000D standards
  • General knowledge of XML and interpreting XML schemas
  • Experience with processing XML and using XSLT to convert SGML, HTML, or XML data to other XML schemas
  • MSOffice Proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Timeline)
  • Detail oriented and team oriented
  • Clear and concise writing skills
  • Ability to effectively work with internal & external customers
  • Ability to work independently and work with limited direction to accomplish project goals
  • Must be a US Citizen
Desired Skills:
  • Strong Technical writing/IETM user experience
  • Knowledge of lifecycle development systems
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle
  • Familiarity with aircraft operations
  • Experience with scripting or programming to manipulate XML is also highly desirable.
  • Experience with data mapping tools, such as Altova MapForce is a plus.
  • Aircraft maintenance experience a plus
  • Cost Account Manager (CAM) a plus
  • Ability to acquire US Government Security Clearance a plus

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $82,200 - $157,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $94,500 - $178,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
