Purpose


The Reporting Analyst provides strategic and tactical support to the Pharmacy Analytics team and will report directly to the Manager of Pharmacy Analytics. The Reporting Analyst works directly with PANTHERx to identify and document reporting requirements, develop, and maintain reports, collect, and interpret data, identify data quality issues, and distribute reports on a scheduled basis (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly). In addition, the Reporting Analyst will be responsible for maintenance of data quality processes and standards.

This is a data reporting role highly focused in SQL and not a BI Analytics role.

Responsibilities


  • Works under the direction of the Manager of Pharmacy Analytics to develop, deploy, maintain, and analyze regular reports for PANTHERx and partner management
  • Collaborates with other members of the Pharmacy Analytics team and PANTHERx associates to define data needed for specific departments and needed to comply with contractual obligations
  • Verifies data for accuracy and integrity
  • Mines and cleans data from numerous data sources and ensure data integrity prior to deployment
  • Develops, tests, and deploys standard and custom reports and analytics to internal and/or external end users for strategic and operational analysis
  • Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends shown in data sets
  • Interfaces with third-party vendors and/or partners to identify reporting requirements and file transmission procedures, including but not limited to regular/ad-hoc meetings to review output of data and/or report changes
  • Ensures appropriate scheduling and delivery of backend reporting jobs for both internal and external stakeholders, and collaborates with Reporting Specialist and Database Administrators to troubleshoot and resolve issues with report generation and delivery
  • Ensures delivery of automated reports and manually delivers reports via e-mail/sFTP where needed. Administers updates to distribution lists, delivery paths, and data formats as required.
  • Independently performs root-cause analysis to identify and resolve issues quickly
  • Participates in quality review processes and updates to Pharmacy Analytics department documentation
  • Rotational coverage of Data Reporting Inbox including after hours evenings and weekends to ensure reports are being delivered as expected and resolve/triage any unexpected situations that arise in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications


  • 3+ years of hands-on current active experience in a SQL based environment
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, SSIS, SSMS, Excel (e.g. macros, pivot tables, advanced charts/graphs, conditional formatting, data tables, basic programming)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related education/equivalent experience.
  • Highly proficient at writing efficient queries, views, indexes, stored procedures, and functions within SQL Server
  • Understanding of advanced concepts in relational database management
  • Capacity to quickly familiarize oneself with new software and technologies
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with Database Management, specific focus on Access and MS-SQL
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Prior experience with reporting generating technologies (SQL Reporting Services, Cognos, Crystal Reports, etc.)
  • Prior experience using analysis tools or systems (ex. web based, custom, proprietary, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Ability to manage deliverables in a high pace environment
  • Pharmacy or Healthcare knowledge

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
