Job Title: Direct Support Professional

Join our team of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and work in one of our Group Homes located in Wakefield, Reading, Melrose, Lynn, or Saugus, MA!

Responsibilities…

Direct Support Professionals are responsible for teaching life and social skills to individuals within their home and in the community. Direct Support Professionals assist individuals to attain independence in all aspects of daily living. This Includes cooking, cleaning, personal care, banking, and community activities.

  • For applicants with a current MAP Certification the rate of pay is $17.00 to $18.00 per hour depending on the intensity of the Program.
  • For applicants without a current MAP Certification the rate of pay is $16.00 per hour. In-house training is available to obtain MAP Certification.
  • Schedules range from 20 to 40 hours per week, as well as relief (per diem)
  • Shifts are available during the day, evening, and overnights both awake and asleep. Most schedules require working on Saturday or Sunday.
  • Staff working weekends will receive an additional $2.00 per hour of their regular rate.
  • Staff working on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years are eligible for double their regular rate of pay.

Qualifications and skills…

  • MAP Certification highly preferred. MAP training offered.
  • High School diploma is required, a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities is preferred, a passion and dedication to supporting our people is a must.
  • A valid driver's license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation is required.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check including references, CORI and fingerprinting.

  • Providing personal care and assistance consistent with each individual’s physical needs and defined support plans.
  • Creating a congenial and homelike atmosphere within the home.
  • Assisting in the implementation of the ISP goals. Supporting individuals by encouraging growth and development.
  • Assisting the individuals in seeking community resources and services, when necessary.
  • Protecting each individual’s rights while maintaining the confidentiality of any information relating to individuals in the residential program.
