Position Summary
Develop and lead the general merchandise (GM) assortment and promotional strategy for Enterprise Replenishment, Seasonal Event Planning, and Merchandising Solutions. Lead strategic plans, manage assortments, support vendor relationships and collaborate with teams throughout the organization. Work collaboratively with district and store teams to execute store sales plans. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
Essential Job Functions
- Develop and implement strategic plans that focus on financial sales and profit budgets based on market trends and competitive activity that supports consumer trends and the company and division business plans and strategies
- Review and implement weekly sales plans, advertising plans, and special incremental sales programs, such as seasonal and annual merchandising programs
- Maintain an awareness of and evaluate the effectiveness of current industry trends, products, and competitive landscape
- Provide guidance to Buying and Planning team in division-specific planning process, and adjustments to plans
- Negotiate favorable programs and costs while developing strategic partnerships with suppliers
- Review analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives
- Participate in overall capital budget planning, development and execution; review and approve capital expenditure requests
- Monitor ongoing corporate needs assessments, provide recommendations to management, as required
- Maintain a high level of knowledge of market trends, customer needs, customer lifestyles and competitive activity
- Supervise and coach direct reports and performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports

Minimum Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in merchandising/marketing
- 3+ years of related experience
- Any experience as divisional merchandise manager
- Effective oral and written communication skills, including formal presentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Kroger Merchandising systems
- Ability to create new strategies and win stakeholder buy in
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to achieve objectives through others and collaborate effectively with multiple teams
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales and profit goals and providing resolutions under challenging circumstances
