Position Overview:
As a member of Transportation Electrification (TE) team, the successful candidate is responsible for supporting the growth of Edison Energy’s Transportation Electrification practice and managing ongoing client pipeline and related activities. This role focuses on helping clients define and execute clean transportation strategies, with subject matter expertise and thought leadership around electric vehicle fleet advisory. This role will oversee energy advisory services provided to customers, including analysis of client energy portfolios, advising on market trends, and quantifying opportunities. Key to this role will be supporting the development and delivery of Edison Energy’s electric vehicle and alternative fuel offerings and ensuring superior client experience through our consultative advisory engagements.

Essential Functions:

  • Strategy Development (50%):
  • Lead the strategy development of Edison Energy’s TE advisory work, determine key client pursuits and go-to-market strategies for developing and delivery high-value advisory engagements
  • Drive the development and enhancement of Edison Energy’s TE project methodologies and approaches in client delivery
  • Integrate the TE advisory into Edison Energy’s portfolio by working closely with members of our business units, and develop cross-selling opportunities with internal groups
  • Support the development of marketing materials and sales communications to facilitate the customer engagement process. Work closely with sales and business development leads to distribute appropriate materials with clients and pursuits.
  • Support the development of proposals and responses to RFPs with the cross-functional Edison Team. Participate in interviews with potential clients and target programs.
  • Communicate and socialize the TE advisory strategy within client organizations; clearly articulate to senior leadership, including C-suite, around how TE opportunities are related to other business objectives
  • Identify current customer needs, emerging customer needs, and new market opportunities for the TE team, with a focus on enterprise-wide decarbonization strategies
  • Help contribute to business process designs internally and across the organization
  • Staff Management and Practice Oversight (25%):
  • Oversee project teams and coordinate the management of tasks, timelines, and client deliverables.
  • Mentor and manage teams on client projects to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget.
  • Review financial information, budgetary performance, and SG&A spending
  • Supervise and manage a high-performing team of managers and analysts that fosters a collaborative working environment, encourages innovation, and supports professional development and career progression
  • Actively lead and participate in recruiting and hiring TE staff
  • Manage staff to ensure complete and high-quality project deliverables to clients
  • Support integration between Edison’s service lines, providing internal education and training on how current energy optimization, supply, and renewable energy procurement advisory practices support client TE initiatives
  • Project Oversight & Client Consulting (25%):
  • Oversee a team that delivers qualitative and quantitative analysis, including financial modeling/analysis around fleet conversion to electric vehicles, total cost of ownership, carbon savings, return-on-investment, client strategy roadmaps, and education sessions.
  • Demonstrate executive presence and clearly communicate ideas and concepts to a broad audience.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise around transportation electrification (TE). Serve as an advisor to clients and lead the delivery of electric vehicle projects, including advising on best practices and strategic value of TE.
  • Review and ensure high-quality client-facing materials and deliverables across multiple workstreams; this includes but is not limited to Power Point presentations, reports, summary documents, and proposals
  • Work with internal teams such as Sustainability, Energy Optimization, Supply and Renewables & Analytics Advisory to inform strategy development

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated passion for transportation electrification, climate mitigation, sustainability, and clean energy.
  • Prior experience in managing teams of professional services consultants and large project engagements
  • Strong project management methodology background, including schedule, scope, issue and risk management experience, change management, strategic planning and analysis
  • Mature business development, project management and consulting skills; writing and presentation of business solutions
  • Commercially minded, understanding levers for business profitability, compelling offerings, and solutions development
  • Understanding of business accounting, financial performance, and budgeting exercises
  • Enhanced business skills in listening, clarifying, asking questions, recommending, proposing ideas and solutions
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a cross-disciplinary audience, both in writing and in presentation skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail while managing multiple projects with competing timelines
  • Travel may be expected up to 25% of time

Desired Background:

  • A minimum of 15 years professional experience
  • A minimum of 7 years in external consulting in transportation, energy services, engineering, or sustainability
  • Industry experience in the electric transportation sector, with specific expertise in fleet electrification strategy and / or implementation
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, display excellent judgment, and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Excellent oral communication, written communication, and presentation skills
  • A track-record of building teams with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and openness to new ideas and perspectives
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • MBA or business degree desired, although not required

California Applicants:
Salary: $170,000 - $210,000 annually plus ESPP and Bonus, subject to experience and geolocation.
