Role Description

We are seeking an Entry Level Estimator for our Lansing headquarters. Working primarily in our General Contracting division, the Estimator will provide perform estimating-related work in support of the company's self-perform division. In addition, the person in this role may provide some project management support during the course of their work.

Responsibilities

• Perform a thorough estimate take-off.
• Analyze drawings and specifications and clarify contractual terms and conditions.
• Represent the Company at pre-bid meetings and ensure bid requirements are met.
• Builds and manages relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
• Develop appropriate pricing and schedule; put together scopes of work for all major subcontractor packages; coordinate bid-day support and bid-day delivery/submission. Ensure a complete, responsible, and competitive bid.
• Ensure that job cost and labor cost reports are reviewed and updated regularly.
• Handle or assist with project management duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in building construction management, civil engineering, or other engineering discipline is preferred.
• Related experience preferred. Prior full time work experience in a construction company or completed internships are desired.
• Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to easily read and understand blueprints and specifications.
• Assertive, highly motivated, organized and a self-starting individual.
