Job description

We are looking for a barn manager to oversee and help with the daily operations and care of horses at our equine rehabilitation facility. Blenheim Equine Rehab specializes in the care and rehabilitation of sport horses that are recovering from injury, surgery, or competition.

Responsibilities

- Assisting with daily care of horses: grooming, blanketing, turnout, feeding, medication administration

- Help with exercising horses in the water treadmill

- Operating the cold saltwater spa

- Bandaging, putting boots on for riding/turnout

- Notifying staff veterinarian of potential issues such as wounds, skin infections, swelling, lameness, etc.

- Client communication, checking/responding to emails and calls/texts. Meeting clients and potential clients.

- receiving incoming horses

- Helping with social media posts/stories

Requirements:

- extensive horse handling experience. Ability to work with horses of different breeds, disciplines, and levels of training

- Riding skills a plus

- excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be working as part of a team, and every horse comes with at least one owner!

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Holidays
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
