Fox Building Supply,* a division of Mill Creek Lumber & Supply Company is *seeking a Building Materials Estimator for our Oklahoma City Sales Division. This position will support our Outside Sales staff by performing blueprint material estimating, including Engineered Wood Products, for residential and commercial projects. Estimators also provide inside sales support within the Sales Division.

The Estimator role is primarily responsible for managing estimates and quotes for transaction sales. This position requires excellent communication skills that result in meeting or exceeding the assigned revenue targets for the specified regions.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Research accounts, identify key players, generate interest and obtain business requirements.
  • Work closely with Outside Sales Representatives to determine strategic approach.
  • Perform data entry pre-sales support transactions for field sales.
  • Issue purchase orders.
  • Prepare accurate estimates
  • Special Price Authorization requests.
  • Account administration including the update forecast and opportunity details to ensure accurate territory forecasts.
  • Utilize manufacturers or builders software programs, as required. Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of products and services, industry trends, and competition.
  • Be a key member and contributor to the Sales and Marketing teams.
  • Read and comprehend blueprints

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience in building material Inside Sales or similar industry, with a proven track record within an automated sales environment, where accurate data entry and management of a CRM system is required.
  • Experience and success working within a revenue quota and commission structure.
  • General knowledge of millwork, lumber and building materials; expanded knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with heavy data entry.
  • Proficient with standard corporate productivity tools (email, voicemail, MS Office).
  • Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills as well as strong writing skills.
  • Persistent, self-starter with a track record of successful, credible follow-up and cold calling in to multiple levels within an organization.
  • Team player with the ability to work in a high-energy sales team environment with a desire to work with others for broader success.
