Summary

The Engineer III provides support for the Building Operations by operating, maintaining, and repairing the various lighting, mechanical, and structural systems. These include, but are not limited to boilers, cooling towers, motors, chillers, conveyor system, filters, rooftop equipment and pumps.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Ability to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
  • Support, maintain and operate the various lighting, mechanical, and structural systems
  • Proven skill to cost effectively troubleshoot diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems and components.
  • Experience repairing split-case pumps, gear drives, fans, pneumatics, hydronic systems, and steam boiler systems.
  • Experience working with cooling tower water treatment
  • Good working knowledge of mechanical systems
  • Must demonstrate professional competency in the troubleshooting and repair of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Move equipment to the job site as needed
  • Perform assigned duties as directed

Qualifications Include

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in servicing HVAC equipment including rooftop air conditioning
  • First Class Steam and Refrigeration license issued by the City of Memphis
  • Strong knowledge of building automation controls
  • PC skills.
  • Technical Institute Diploma or equivalent Trade School, Military Training or work experience in an engineering discipline would be a plus
  • Current state issued driver’s license
  • Be able to pass physical testing requirements to wear a respirator for working around and doing minor repairs to Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) in some of our buildings. Knowledge of Osha Safety Guidelines, Hazard Communication Program with the use of Personal Protected Equipment (PPE) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Be able to work from ladders, lift and carry 50 lbs.
