The Opportunity:

Blackbird.AI is recruiting Intelligence Analysts within the Primary Intelligence Team, supporting clients headquartered within the North America region. The successful candidate(s) will use our proprietary AI-driven analytics platform to deliver integrated information disorder solutions and comprehensive insights to our clients across multiple industries. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with multiple functions and teams within Blackbird, and lead education efforts for external audiences towards an innovative future of digital information integrity.

As an Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing social media content to identify and track online information operations and narrative development. Using Blackbird’s novel software solutions you will investigate the networked connections behind these conversations, and support investigative efforts within Blackbird’s team of researchers and analysts. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, including social media and network analysis, and experience managing and handling large unstructured data sets. They will know how to analyze and identify behavioral patterns on social media, and as a plus, be skilled at providing compelling data visualizations. Understanding how disinformation or harmful conversations spread on social platforms is ideal.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct multi-source intelligence analysis on qualitative and quantitative social media and open source data. Identify and monitor current and emerging areas of risk, as per client interests.
  • Use analytical insights to develop client deliverables such as reports and presentations, or provision of other support in client meetings as needed.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with clients throughout the duration of analysis projects, including supporting the initial scope of projects, check-in sessions and delivery of final reports.
  • Produce analysis-driven thought leadership written products, including industry-specific White Papers, articles, blog posts, and issue-specific long-form reports.
  • Participate in innovative ideation, user feedback, and quality assurance activities as part of the Intelligence Team’s contribution to Blackbird’s product development.
  • Deliver tool demonstrations and trainings to external third-party audiences as an expert user of Blackbird’s software product.
  • Contribute to robust Customer Satisfaction processes such as analyst support and trouble-shooting for external Blackbird software users.
  • Other ad hoc intelligence, support, and administration taskings when relevant.

Requirements

Must Haves:

  • Experience with most aspects of the intelligence cycle, including identifying key collection sources, evaluating raw intelligence, conducting research, performing network analysis, and preparing finished intelligence reports for different levels of stakeholders.
  • Strong skills in data analysis, with data science experience being a plus; experience in social media analysis; and handling large unstructured data sets.
  • Has effective oral and written communications skills with the ability to compose and deliver finished intelligence reports and verbal briefings in a timely, concise and accurate manner.
  • Is able to approach information and data in an objective and rational manner, understand bias and possible relationships of importance and apply methods of examination to construct a clear and informed judgment.
  • High professionalism, self-motivation, efficiency, and results-oriented delivery on short timelines.
  • Strong proficiency in Google Suite of products.
  • Passion and commitment to freedom of speech, social change, free and fair elections, and the fight to protect democracy from information disorder.

Great to Have:

  • Experience working within crisis communications or intelligence communities desired.
  • Previous experience in both qualitative and quantitative project management work will be advantageous.
  • Previous experience using the following software tools will be highly advantageous:
    Brandwatch, Talkwalker, Meltwater, Buzzsumo, Dataminer, Tableau, and Asana.
