Position Responsibilities:
- Attempts to control food costs; throw away, etc.
- A thorough understanding of sanitation procedures and food temperatures consistently applies knowledge.
- Understands the importance of proper food handling procedures and ensures that procedures are always followed.
- Properly identifies and stores products specific to the outlet and always takes a lead role in quality control of all food items.
- Ability to produce food orders in a timely, neat, and organized manner according to the needs of the guest.
- Familiar with all products/inventory in freezers and coolers, and ensures that all product/inventory are properly rotated to maintain freshness.
- Consistently demonstrates an advanced understanding of assisting in controlling product costs by ensuring the proper management of product waste.
- Works independently and makes informed decisions in the absence of a Supervisor and immediately notifies a Supervisor of any foreseeable concerns or developments.
- Continually demonstrates a lead role with training new employees and/or demonstrating proper culinary techniques.
- Ensures approved methods of product preparation to ensure consistency as well as quality. Offers recommendation(s) for improving methods of product preparation and recipe development.
- Ensures that all daily production schedules are accurate and completed in an efficient and timely manner.
- Always offers informed recommendations regarding employee counseling and performance appraisals.
- Oversees and ensures that all outlet opening procedures are consistently followed.
- Maintains frequent communication with all work areas to ensure efficiency, performance standards and superior guest service while conveying pertinent information/policy changes.
Position Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent. Associates degree in a related field or culinary degree preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must possess a minimum of 2-3 years of related experience.
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures; 0 to 110 degrees.
- Ability to be safety oriented.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
- Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule to include nights, holidays, and weekends.
Position Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Position requires constant bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, standing, walking, simple grasping, manual dexterity, reaching over the shoulder, and twisting.
