Join Our Team
  • Full-time, seasonal position starting in April 2023 and ending October 2023.
  • Location: You will be assigned to work at one of our six properties across Yellowstone National Park.
  • Work schedules are typically 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, and holidays). Time and a half is paid above 40 hours.

Responsibilities:

Applicants for Learning and Development will be considered for the following positions based on skill levels and business needs:


Property Training Specialist
Filled
The Property Training Specialist is primarily responsible for new employee orientation, and giving tours to new employees at an assigned location

Lodging Training Specialist (Housekeeping Trainer $16.00)
The Lodging Training Specialist is primarily responsible for all on the job training within the Lodging department. Housekeeping and Front Desk experience required.

Retail Training Specialist
Filled
The Retail Training Specialist is primarily responsible for all on the job training within the Retail department

Learning and Development Coordinator
Filled
  • The L&D Coordinator manages daily and weekly reports from HR and modifies schedules accordingly based on said reports and communicates clearly and effectively to all trainers
  • Coordinates and periodically updates templates for job aides, facilitator guides, participant guides, and presentations for use by trainers.
Learning Management System Tech Specialist Filled
  • Coordinate all returner eLearning compliance training and communications
  • Lightly review data being entered by other staff to ensure consistency and completeness
Responsibilities include:
  • Work with designated department management to implement season opening or annual training and follow up.
  • Managing Location orientation training and on-boarding.
  • Facilitate Intro to Management classes.
  • Perform administrative functions.
  • Help drive exemplary guest service.
  • Maintain and project a professional demeanor while on duty and interacting with employees, managers, and guests.
  • Assist department and location management with the preparation and presentation of opening training packets and programs.
  • Work with new employees to ensure maximum comprehension of specific job skills and duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications include:
  • Must be able to stand for variable amounts of time, approximately 8 hours
  • Must be able to walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 30 pounds
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications Include:
  • Strong communication skills: verbal and written
  • Ability to teach, motivate and develop staff members at location operations
  • Knowledge of training issues and situations faced by managers and supervisors in location operations
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to think clearly under pressure and respond accordingly
  • Ability to deal with all co-workers, guests, and employees professionally with the goal of providing the best service possible
  • Ability to communicate positively and effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Dependent on property, travel and overnight stays may be required
  • Knowledge of Company policies and procedures helpful
  • Knowledge of department-specific operations helpful
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand for variable amounts of time, approximately 8 hours.
  • Must be able to walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 20 pounds.
  • Speaking clearly in front of audiences for several hours.
  • Ability to sit and do computer work for extended periods, up to eight hours a day
Additional Physical Requirements for Lodging trainers
  • Frequent lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds throughout the day.
  • Pushing a cart up to 50-100 pounds.
  • May be working in or outdoors. Weather conditions will vary throughout the summer (sunny and hot or could be cold with rain or snow) – we can and have had snow in all months!
  • Frequent walking up and down stairs and walking up and down hills that are a steep grade.
  • Requires bending, kneeling, stretching, and reaching. Could total up to eight hours per shift.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required, and ability to pass DOT physical preferred.
  • Working with required chemicals
