Lecturer - Maintenance Management - Aviation Technology
Job description
Review of applicants will begin 15 May 2023, and will continue until the position is filled. We are seeking experienced individuals who will provide instruction in an environment that embraces learning, positive spirit, high-performance, integrity, and diversity.
This is a full-time teaching appointment with 95% teaching and 5% service role assignments, and may include the following:
- Teach approximately 12-15 credit hours of undergraduate and/or graduate courses per semester in Aviation Technology
- Service to include committee work in support of departmental, college, university, and professional society activities.
- Assist with career student advising and student club activities.
- Maintain and enhance laboratory teaching environment including design and fabrication of innovative teaching materials.
- Assist in student recruitment and retention, alumni and industry relations, program marketing/public relations, and other program needs.
- Professional development, including conferences, online interactions and contributing to the aviation and collegiate education communities.
- Supporting, recruiting and advocating for diversity and inclusive environment, including international students and underserved populations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in aviation or a related field, plus 3 years of related industry experience; or a master’s degree in aviation of related field
- FAA certification Airframe and Powerplants
- Excellent oral and written commination skills
- Excellent computer and technology skills
- Online course instruction experience
- Collegiate teaching experience and knowledge of curriculum subjects
- Instructional design and curriculum development for collegiate courses
- Record of professional development in aviation, including publications, presentations, certifications

Three B.S. degrees are offered in the Aviation Technology program — Professional Pilot for fixed wing and rotorcraft; Maintenance Management; and Aviation Management with emphases in Unmanned Aerial Systems or Airport Operations; and additionally, a Master of Aviation Science degree.
