Licensing Coordinator

SUMMARY OF WORK PERFORMED:
Oversight of licensing of qualified foster homes, in your geographic area. Ensure compliance with Licensing Division (LD) requirements, investigation of licensing complaints, recruitment and retention of foster homes.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement the directives of the Program Director and Licensing Supervisor in the areas of overseeing the licensing process, re-licensing foster homes, and retaining current foster homes; and providing quality customer service.
- Oversight of program in your geographic area which may include:
- Administrative duties; filing, data-entry into applicable databases.
- Respond to new inquiries in a timely manner.
- Follow up with each potential foster family in accordance with the established procedure.
- Support potential foster families in the completion of their requirements for licensing.
- Support and coordination of the licensing process for prospective families including: Olive Crest’s mission, values and practices; compliance with LD requirements; pre-service training, and the home assessment process.
- Participate in the assessment and on-going development through the licensing process.
- Support and coordinate the re-licensing of foster homes and amend licenses as necessary.
- Support and conduct annual licensing home visits.
- Support and conduct investigations of licensing complaints and assist in gathering information as well as supporting families through the investigation process.
- Consult with case management staff regarding placement, home study and licensing issues.
- Communication with various (LD) contacts.
- Assist in ensuring accreditation, State and Olive Crest standards are being met.
- Ability to assist with CCT trainings for foster parents.
- Prepare needed and as requested reports and data information.
- Willing to work evenings and weekends in order to meet with families who are unable to meet during regular working hours or attend recruitment events/presentations.
- Read, edit, and approve Home Studies written for families in the licensing process.
- Participate in weekly licensing team meetings including supervision meetings with Licensing Supervisor.
- Assist with recruitment and retention strategies and implementation of foster families in assigned geographic area.
- Other duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in social services or a related field, or four years of relevant full-time experience servicing children may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree with LD administrative approval.
- Must be 21 years and older.
- Knowledge or experience with the foster care system.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, plan and follow through with job responsibilities and assigned tasks in a professional manner.
- Public speaking and strong oral presentation skills and experience.
- Drive to homes within the assigned geographical area.
- Live in assigned geographical area or within reasonable distance to the Tacoma office.
- Willing to work evenings and weekends in order to meet with families who are unable to meet during regular working hours or attend recruitment events/presentations.
- Criminal record clearance.
- Valid Washington State driver’s license and acceptable driving record as required by Olive Crest’s insurance carrier.
- First Aid/CPR certification for infants and children completed before first day.
- Must have 2 hours of HIV/blood borne pathogens training in the past 5 years.
- Provide a Health Screening and negative TB test within the last year and submit to HR before first day.
- Exceptional ability to communicate clearly and effectively through verbal and written correspondence, in timely manner, with other professionals involved in the assigned cases.
- Entry level computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability and experience to provide quality customer service to various constituents while keeping safety as a priority.
- A philosophy of support for at-risk children and families in line with the mission, vision, values, and statement of faith of Olive Crest.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Master’s Degree in Social Work/Social Services or three years experience preferred.
- Knowledge and previous experience with foster care service delivery.
- Experience and high comfort level working with various cultures and faith-based communities.
