Line Cook

Halfway is coming to West Hartford center this April and we couldn't be more excited! Located at 37 Lasalle Road, Halfway is the center's newest neighborhood restaurant and bar with a welcoming, energetic vibe featuring classic, casual American fare and drink. We have a little something for everyone with live music on the weekends, arcade games and more! We'll meet our guests Halfway whether they're choosing to dine out as a family, watching a game with old friends, or heading out for live music and late night revelry.

We're looking for hardworking individuals who embrace teamwork and believe in the spirit of hospitality and simple food done right. We're hiring for FOH and BOH positions and anyone who is excited to become a part of a fun loving restaurant family should apply. We are initially opening 5 days a week and plan to ramp up to 7 days shortly after opening.

Line cooks will be responsible for all duties pertaining to the kitchen.

• Prepare and cook foods according to recipes and customer needs.
• Monitor food quality and maintain food safety and cleanliness regulations.
• Conform to standard kitchen safety protocols.
• Meet all operating procedures established by the restaurant management.
• Answer customer questions about menu items.
• Manage the preparation and cooking of foods, following recipes and using proper techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Passion for food
• A team player with a hospitality first mentality and a keen willingness to learn
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
• Ability to stand, walk and lift heavy items for extended periods of time
• Two years experience preferred, but we will train the right restaurant candidate who shows a willingness to learn in a collaborative environment
