We are a rapidly growing law firm that focuses on complex litigation, mostly in the electronic payments industry in state and federal court nationwide using local counsel. At least 2 years of Federal and California civil litigation experience preferred.
Paralegal certificate or commensurate experience required.
Your typical day will require flexibility and solid time management. Specific responsibilities are as follows:
- Detailed case management for assigned cases, including maintenance of filing deadlines, hearing dates, and post-judgment matters.
- Preparation, review and drafting of all pleadings/forms.
- Correspondence and discovery, as needed, including interrogatories, requests for admissions, and document production.
- General review of and research.
- Working directly with clients to obtain case information and act as an intermediary between clients and attorneys.
- Working with local counsel in other states to facilitate the filing of pleadings in cases filed outside of California. Preparing pleadings for out-of-state jurisdictions based on templates as provided by local counsel.
- Time entry and billing.
- Assisting with general paralegal tasks assigned as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of California legal secretary/paralegal experience
- Paralegal Certificate
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Extensive knowledge of court rules, (State and Federal) including ECF filing procedures for civil litigation
Required Qualifications
- Excellent grammar, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Must pay attention to detail
- Competency with Microsoft Office, Adobe DC, Deadlines.com, Timekeeping programs, Trello

Your typical day will require flexibility and solid time management. Specific responsibilities are as follows:
- Prepare and file pleadings, draft motions, prepare table of contents and table of authorities, discovery, judicial council forms, and correspondence,
- Schedule and coordinate depositions, court hearings, meetings, research, all phases of litigation
- Assist litigation attorneys with case organization, including and all phases of litigation and project management, e-discovery, e-filing
- Maintain calendar and deadlines, document management
- Time entry and billing
- Vendor management
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of California legal secretary/paralegal experience

- Bachelor’s Degree

- Knowledge of bankruptcy litigation a plus
