Primary Purpose:
Manages Norfolk Southern's fleet of End-of-Train devices (EOTD's) with the objective of maximizing the effective use of same. Also primarily responsible for handling interline settlement and maintenance for the EOTD fleet.
Principal Duties:
- Coordinates reconciliation of Association of American Railroads (AAR) bill with NS Automatic Equipment Identification (AEI) scanner and movement records and bills non-subscribing roads for use of NS devices per existing run-through agreements.
- Monitors daily status on costs regarding foreign EOTD usage as well as monitors the reporting of NS EOTD devices moving offline.
- Oversees coordination with the field to move foreign EOTD units home and to increase utilization on NS EOTD's.
- Plans for fleet requirements and budgets for EOTD fleet adequate to meet network needs.
- Manages EOTD maintenance contracts with suppliers.
