MASTER DATA MANAGER

SUMMARY:

The Master Data Manager is responsible for the creation and maintenance of master data across our customer, vendor, purchasing, inventory, production, and sales module(s). This includes but is not limited to master and facility level data; items customers, BOM's, recipes and related specification set up and maintenance in our ERP system. This role will be responsible for the timely entry of data, ensuring processes are maintained to keep the data clean over time; with ownership of the creation, edit and deactivation of data in line with established processes.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:


  • Setup new item numbers in ERP (Supplies, Raw Materials, Components, Sub-Assemblies, Finished Goods)
  • Create and maintain formulas, BOM's and routes, as well as alternate formulas and alternate routes, in ERP
  • Consult with internal customers on an as needed basis to collect information required to develop item masters, BOM's, and packaging specifications
  • Set up and maintain raw & packaging item substitution data
  • Process change requests to existing items in ERP; ensuring all stakeholders are aware of updates
  • Input formula and recipe data per guidance from R&D & Quality
  • Review approved/activated formula list before mass cost roll ups
  • Maintain databases (e.g., formulas, packaging specifications, item numbers, etc.)
  • Run and analyze reports to identify errors or inconsistencies in ERP data (e.g., cost reviews, active formula reviews, general master data reviews, etc.)
  • Consult with internal customers on an as needed basis to collect information required to develop item masters, BOM's, and packaging specifications
  • Maintain list of warehouse and location fields in ERP
  • Maintain Master Item List
  • Manage the item discontinuation process by ensuring that all remaining inventory and activity is ended before discontinuing items. Recommend item discontinuations regularly
  • Complete various miscellaneous projects as requested
  • Ensure proper IT and operating controls are in place to ensure the validity of the data
  • Ensure training is completed regularly for users with edit access to master data
  • Design business processes that deliver consistency across all factories

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:

  • High School Diploma
  • 4+ years of previous experience in similar role with responsibility of data management
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in ERP, Excel, Word, and Outlook (Deacom Knowledge a plus)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast environment
  • Must have good math skills (must be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and work with percentages using a calculator)
  • Must be able to convert weights between different units of measure such as pounds, ounces, grams, and kilograms
  • Must be highly organized, work efficiently, and operate with a great degree of attention to detail
  • Must be able to prioritize and schedule work to complete required tasks on time with minimal direction
  • Understand operations related to work centers, departments, staffing, throughputs, operations, etc.
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle management processes flows and their interactions between departments
  • Ability to work effectively alone or in cross-functional teams
  • Laser focus on execution (end to end) applying relentless rigor
  • Problem solving and decision-making capabilities; strong analytical skills
  • Disciplined and diligent work ethic
