Purpose of Position:
Provides overall support to all aspects of the Nutrition Programs, including Meals on Wheels assessments, congregate meals staff training and substitution, support and coverage for the Nutrition Programs Supervisor, clerical support, and assist as needed with all other aspects of the Nutrition Programs.

Essential Functions:
- Assists the Director of Operations, Nutrition Program Manager and Supervisor with activities to ensure that client needs are met in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Assess and reassesses unmet basic needs, plans service, links, advocates, and monitors service delivery results in the office and the client’s home to ensure comprehensive and timely meeting of the clients overall identified needs.
- Provides clerical support for all nutrition and transportation programs.
- Receives and processes verbal, written, telephone and electronic communications in a timely, competent, and professional manner.
- Coordinates daily operations, as required, with division, agency staff, and partnering organizations.
- General office duties as assigned, to include answering phone, filing, mailing, copying, data entry, catering, inventory and ordering of supplies, and other necessary duties as assigned.
- Cross-trains for the Nutrition Program Supervisor position and performs that job in their absence or as directed by the Nutrition Program Manager.
- Provides support with daily functions, such as bag labeling, route sheets, kitchen sheets, meal deliveries, call-backs, menus, and meal site correspondence. Serves as Nutrition Program Supervisor in their absence.
- Maintains accurate databases; prepares accurate and timely reports and documents.
- Cross train for the Congregate Coordinator and performs that job in the absence of a substitute coordinator or as directed by the Nutrition Program Manager.
- Properly train Congregate Coordinators on State and Federal program requirements and local health and safety requirements.
- Attend regularly and scheduled agency and program staff meetings.
Education/Experience:
1. High school diploma
2. Experience preferred in volunteer and organize tasks
3. Catering/food service experience a plus
Competencies:
1. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
2. Ability to prioritize and organize tasks
3. Manage time effectively
4. Excellent customer service, phone, and keyboarding skills
5. Knowledge of copiers and Microsoft applications
6. Good filing skills and ability to work in a fast-paced production and office environment
7. Physical requirements: able to lift 50 pounds
8. Valid state of Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation
Compensation & Benefits
- Non - exempt position with starting hourly wage of $15.71 - $17.95, which will be adjusted for experience.
