Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Operations Manager. The Operations Manager works closely with the Head of Operations, filters day-to-day operation issues, supervises grounds crew and provides logistical support. Individuals with experience in the operations and maintenance industries are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have experience supervising small to medium sized teams and horticultural experience.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Filters day-to-day operation issues, within various departments (Academics, Admissions, Advancement, Communications, Athletics).
  • Supervise the Grounds Crew department. Proactively manage their detail and development and to ensure they have the information, tools and support needed to perform their jobs effectively and successfully.

    • Provide and maintain grounds staff detail sheet and modify in alignment with the needs of the business.

    • Track grounds employee daily hours to include time worked and time off via the Operations Timesheet.

    • Performs grounds work area inspections daily.

    • Oversees distribution of supply and equipment inventory to grounds staff.

    • Identify areas of staff development and provide timely feedback and training.

  • Provide logistical support to the Head of Operations regarding vendor or project management with current and future projects.

  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing and processing of operations related invoices.

  • Manages the landscaping vendor relationship.
    • Strategizes grounds planning
    • Meets with vendor to discuss and plan seasonal projects
  • Manage inventory, facilitate purchases of supplies and equipment as needed, and verifies delivery against documentation (packing slips and receipts.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Head of Operations.


QUALIFICATIONS


Education:
Bachelor's Degree Required.


Experience:
Two years of operations based experience. Three years supervisory experience managing a team. Horticultural experience required.


Specific Skills:
Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word, Google Platform and ADP payroll.


Certifications/Licenses:
No certifications for this role are required.


Special Requirements:
Travel between the Dyker Heights and Park Slope campuses as necessary. Able to work a flexible schedule that includes nights and weekends as necessary.


Annual Salary Range: 82K-85K
