General Description:
The Physician Relations & Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and retaining customer relationships to facilitate business growth for key hospital services. Works as an extension of hospital leadership and operations, focusing on key customers to grow hospital volumes in all oncology, adult and children’s services.

- Collaborate with market clinical and business development leaders, evaluates, analyzes, and interprets market utilization data for market facilities' to identify priorities and develop a business plan and retention strategies for target list.
- Collaborate with market CEO's, understands hospital services and uses that understanding to identify opportunities and execute strategic plans to grow key hospital and clinic volumes, including inpatient admissions, outpatient services and surgical volumes.
- Evaluates, analyzes, and interprets market demographics, including population, age, gender, race, and projected trends for both physicians and patient populations in assigned territory.
- Identifies critical activities and tasks, effectively allocates time to consistently meet or exceed productivity expectations.
- Executes strategies and monitors effectiveness of business plan and modifies strategies and activities as necessary.
- Educates customers on services offered by facility and effectively conveys benefits of the business relationship.
- Identifies barriers and communicates to leadership using through the Tier 1 huddle process.
- Responsible for Issue Resolution process and works to implement solutions and completes follow-up meetings to gain or retain business.
- Completes meetings with customers to gain thorough understanding of customer needs, business challenges, and uses that understanding to develop a plan and customer-focused solutions. Consistently uses SalesForce to track activities.
- Completes face-to-face meetings with physicians and practice managers, ensuring that a thorough understanding is gained regarding the physicians' desires and needs.
- Completes follow-up meetings with physicians, practice managers, and/or other providers as needed to close new or additional business, ensuring that internal and external obstacles to business growth and retention are identified and minimized or eliminated.
- Prepares and presents monthly reports, identifying trends, additional business opportunities, and obstacles to retention and new business growth.
Continuously modifies and improves retention strategies and plans to ensure optimal business outcomes and "win-win" results for physicians and company market providers for adult and children’s service line.
General Responsibilities:
- Travel required in territory most working days.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required. Master’s degree in Health or Business preferred.
Experience: 2 or more years of hospital, pharmaceutical or device sales experience required, and 4 or more years preferred.
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Valid Driver’s License
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to research, understand, and explain healthcare services' volume, utilization, and market data
- Ability to research, understand, and explain market demographics
- Ability to access, understand, and explain physician referral patterns
- Ability to access, understand, and explain facility financial reports
- Ability to design targeted business strategies
- Ability to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of business strategies and techniques
- Ability to prepare and present executive reports
- Ability to verbally articulate service line and product attributes
- Ability to actively listen to physician and practice needs for hospital inpatient and outpatient services
