Job description
West Virginia University Research Corporation is currently accepting applications for a Post Doctoral Researcher in the Knee Center for the Study of Occupational Regulation. The Postdoctoral Researcher is responsible for increasing the research output of the Center, which includes peer-reviewed articles intended for academic journals and more focused reports intended for a policy audience. They will often work as part of a research team, coordinating roles with other members and meeting external and self-imposed deadlines. Research will be focused on the Center’s key areas of occupational licensing, scope of practice, and certificate of need. Ability to meet deadlines with little direct day-to-day oversight and ability to multitask is required. This position will be a two year fixed term position.

What you'll do:
Prepare papers to be published in academic journals
Supervise empirical work of PhD students and advanced undergraduate and graduate interns
Prepare policy reports
Present at academic conferences and other events
Work as a member of a research team and attend regular meetings updating progress
Provide skill development and mentorship for undergraduate or graduate students
Regularly attend and participate in professional development conferences
Write referee reports for policy paper
- PhD in economics or related relevant experience
- Specific knowledge and expertise in occupational regulation in the US or a developing country
- Experience with Excel, Word, and econometric software packages
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
