West Virginia University Research Corporation is currently accepting applications for a Post Doctoral Researcher in the Knee Center for the Study of Occupational Regulation. The Postdoctoral Researcher is responsible for increasing the research output of the Center, which includes peer-reviewed articles intended for academic journals and more focused reports intended for a policy audience. They will often work as part of a research team, coordinating roles with other members and meeting external and self-imposed deadlines. Research will be focused on the Center’s key areas of occupational licensing, scope of practice, and certificate of need. Ability to meet deadlines with little direct day-to-day oversight and ability to multitask is required. This position will be a two year fixed term position.

What you'll do:

• Prepare papers to be published in academic journals

• Supervise empirical work of PhD students and advanced undergraduate and graduate interns

• Prepare policy reports

• Present at academic conferences and other events

• Work as a member of a research team and attend regular meetings updating progress

• Provide skill development and mentorship for undergraduate or graduate students

• Regularly attend and participate in professional development conferences

• Write referee reports for policy paper
  

  
  

• PhD in economics or related relevant experience
• Specific knowledge and expertise in occupational regulation in the US or a developing country
• Experience with Excel, Word, and econometric software packages
• Ability to sit for long periods of time
