Job description

Primary Purpose

Performs high level financial and accounting functions to support the Sempra Infrastructure LNG and Net Zero business entities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs a wide spectrum of financial and accounting assignments with minimal technical direction.
• Provides leadership support during monthly project accounting close.
• Develops and manages billings process to ensure adherence to service, management and project development agreements.
• Prepares analyses in areas such as project cost reports, project analysis and business forecast for project teams.
• Applies expertise to design, systematize, implement, and maintain systems to provide transparency, control, and compliance with company policy, government regulations, and to minimize manual recording effort.
• As a subject matter expert, collaborates with other internal departments to provide accounting support and guidance.
• Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Education

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration or the equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Experience

• 8+ years of public and/or professional accounting or equivalent training and/or experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Excellent financial accounting and reporting skills.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles generally accepted in the U.S.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
• Highly proficient in identifying issues, analyzing data, developing, recommending and implementing solutions.
• Efficient organization and time-management skills.
• Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal guidance from management.
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.

Licenses and Certifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
• Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
