Job description
Under the general supervision of the SR Stores Supervisor, this position supports the UCLA Distribution Services (Cylinder Management and Center for Health Sciences (CHS) Receiving dock) operations. Major job functions include receipt and delivery of freight, merchandise and packages; inventory, accounting for and movement of compressed gas cylinders and research alcohol throughout UCLA campus, research, and hospital facilities.Principal equipment operation is a 10-ton truck requiring a class B license including Air Brakes and Hazardous Material endorsements. With a strong emphasis on safety and customer service, this position requires industry specific knowledge and supports both campus customers and those located within the UCLA Health System.

Required/Preferred
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Required
Ability to perform heavy manual tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Ability to maintain accurate detailed records for inbound and outbound shipments and deliveries.
Required
Ability to perform basic math calculation with accuracy for inventory control, pricing, and industry specific calculations.
Required
Skill in operation of pallet jacks, dollies, and handcarts.
Required
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and squat constantly and for extended time periods.
Required
Ability to wear safety equipment such as steel shoes, gloves, goggles, etc. as required.
Required
Ability to establish and maintain amicable relationships with customers, management, and peers.
Required
Ability to perform a variety of duties with minimal supervision, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency and with frequent interruptions.
Required
Knowledge of safe working practices and operating procedures in a receiving & cylinder warehouse/distribution work environment.
Required
Possession of Class B California Driver's License, in good standing, with Hazardous Material endorsement (including TSA Clearance) and no restrictions on Air Brakes.
Required
Two years truck driving experience preferably in a compressed gas cylinder environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred
Knowledge of UCLA campus and surrounding health care facilities.
Preferred
Must be able to pass a pre-employment road test with passing grade of 80 or above.
