Job description
Summary:
· The main function of a mechanical engineer is to research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes. A typical mechanical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.
Job Responsibilities:
· Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices.
· Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.
· Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendation to maintenance crew.
· Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software.
Skills:

· Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.

Education/Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
· 2-4 years experience required.
Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
· This is a Product Support position for the Compact Track Loader (CTL) and Skid Steer Loader (SSL) products. Primary responsibilities include evaluating warranty claims data and improving machine quality by leading Current Product Improvement (CPI) Projects.
· >$1.0M in potential warranty savings from inappropriate claims
· Improve CTL/SSL product quality and customer satisfaction by resolving field issues
Typical task breakdown:
· 50-75% of time reviewing warranty claims for debiting, identifying outliers, and determining next steps to address outliers
· 25-50% lead and manage timelines for CPI Projects to improve product quality and reduce warranty
Interaction with team:
· Warranty claims requires working with entire product support team, facility quality, other BCP product groups on debiting practices, and Corporate Warranty team.
· CPI role requires working with product support, Client field reps, engineering, production, facility quality, etc.)
Work environment:
· Warranty claims can be done remotely.
· Leading CPI projects requires in the office
Education & Experience Required:
· Bachelor degree in engineering or 5+ Yrs working in the construction equipment or similar industries.
· 2-4 years of experience in the field
Desired:
· Experience working in a manufacturing environment, quality, or in product support is highly desired. Experience in product support is a plus.
· Experience working with Client dealers or other OEM dealers is a plus
· Experience working in CTL / SSL industry and/or in the Sanford, NC facility is a plus
· Experience leading CPI projects or other 6 Sigma improvement process is a plus
Technical Skills
(Required)
· Strong mechanical background.
· Strong problem-solving skills for hydraulics and electrical systems.
· Ability to aggregate large data to identify outliers and determine next steps to address the outliers.
· Fully proficient in Microsoft Office products
Soft Skills

· Excellent communication skills to work with all levels of employees and management.
· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $40.00 - $43.00 per hour
