Lake Shore, an Amber Court Community is a beautiful, assisted living community located in a residential area with spectacular views of the lake. We are a family owned and operated community serving the elderly population. We are seeking a Recreation Assistant to join our amazing team. If you are a warm, energetic individual who is able to interact with the geriatric population we invite you to apply for this position.
As a Recreation Assistant you will assist in presenting and coordinating recreational programs for residents.
- Assists in developing new and stimulating activities and encourage and coordinate Resident involvement
- Perform planned activities
- Maintain knowledge of Residents’ backgrounds, hobbies, special interests, and languages spoken, etc., and uses this knowledge to encourage Resident involvement
- Occasional assistance in dining room
Qualifications:
- Outgoing, warm, and caring personality
- Ability to create a program to get Residents involved and excited
- Dependable and able to supervise activities, special events and excursions for the Residents
- Creative talents in one or more areas such as art, music, readings, dance, etc
- Demonstrates good listening and communication skills
- Proven ability to lead classes/instructional learning sessions and speak in front of a group setting with ease and clarity
- High school diploma or equivalent
$15.00 per hour
Part-time – must be available weekends
