As a remote physician advisor, you will provide significant value to the sites that you support. Remote physician advisors provide our hospital Clients with 24/7 fast case reviews, cost savings, and high ROI on level-of-care status changes and denials prevented.

About the role

  • Be part of a small pod of physician advisors assigned to each hospital to improve relationships and feedback
  • You are responsible for utilization management activities for the hospital partner
  • Serve as liaison to providers, and case management and compliance to improve the accuracy of clinical documentation improvement efforts
  • Improve documentation and eliminate unnecessary secondary reviews for the hospital
  • Provide support on status determinations to our partner hospitals, allowing hospitalists and case managers to focus on patients
  • Compensation range for full-time (160 hrs): $164-$278k

Requirements

  • MD or DO licensure with board certification (base specialty) recognized by ABMS or ABQAURP
  • Utilization-specific training from ABQAURP (The American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians), or equivalent within 12 months of hire
  • Proficient in Word and different EMR systems, while also willing to learn new technologies
  • Strong communication skills, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of inpatient medicine and Advisory experience required
  • Hospitalist, emergency medicine, or intensivist experience required
  • Clinical documentation improvement (CDI) experience preferred
  • Appeals and peer-to-peer experience preferred
  • Schedule: Weekends only – Minimum of 2 full weekends per month (Option for 4 weekends)
