Summary: Fall River Health Services (FRHS) is a comprehensive healthcare system, which services Fall River County and the surrounding areas in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota . We are comprised of a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, 24-hour Emergency Department, Seven Sisters Living Center (LTC), in-house Rural Health Clinic plus ancillary services. Description: T he Respiratory Therapist is responsible for diagnostic evaluation, therapy and education of the patient, family and public. These activities are supported by education, research and administration.
Ability to perform the following diagnostic activities, including but are not limited to:
Acquiring and evaluating clinical data
Assessing the cardiopulmonary status of patients
Performing and assisting in the performance of prescribed diagnostic studies, such as obtaining blood gas samples and pulmonary function testing
Evaluating date to assess the appropriateness of prescribed respiratory care
Establishing therapeutic goals for patients with cardiopulmonary disease
Participating in the development and modification of respiratory care plans
Performing case management of patients with cardiopulmonary and related diseases
Initiating prescribed respiratory care treatments/evaluations, evaluating and monitoring patient responses to such therapy, and modifying the prescribed therapy to achieve the desired therapeutic objectives
Providing patient and family education
Promoting cardiopulmonary wellness, disease prevention and disease management
Participating in life support activities as required and promoting evidence-based medicine, research and clinical practice guidelines
Requirements: Education / License:
Must currently hold an active unencumbered RT license within the State of South Dakota OR have a temporary permit allowing you to practice as an RT in the State of South Dakota OR have applied for a South Dakota RT licensure by endorsement OR are new graduate who is in the process of taking your RT exam.
