GIRD Systems, Inc., specializes in advanced signal processing and communication systems for military and commercial customers. GIRD does more than just design, build and deploy radios for our customers. We design the entire communication system, starting with the creation of a spectrum-efficient waveform, and then progressing through the software or firmware implementation of the communication system in a compact form factor.

As a RF Design Engineer, you will design, model, and verify RF and microwave subassemblies, including LNAs and HPAs. GIRD provides analysis and modeling tools which will be utilized to build rapid prototypes to enable field testing for our customers well in advance of entering full production. This individual will design an RF circuit in simulation, prototype the design quickly, test the design in the field, iterate on the design within a short period of time, resulting in rapid time to market. Knowledge of link budget process is a must. This individual will interact closely with the digital and mechanical design engineers. The radios which GIRD designs span across frequency bands from HF all the way to Ku band, so a well-balanced understanding of broadband frequency design is required.

Because of the nature of the work we do, successful applicants must be able to obtain a security clearance. Other relevant skills of interest include:

• RF Design skills
• Knowledge of microwave design up to Ku/Ka band
• Microwave Office and other simulation packages
• Link budget knowledge and design
• Low noise design techniques
