Scale Clerk is responsible for the shipping & receiving of products at a specific plant. Manages customer orders and truck distribution according to dispatch schedule and customer demand.

Primary Duties

• Learn relevant local and company requirements, rules and procedures. Strictly follows rules and guidelines and always uses the right procedure for the job. Promptly reports incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions or processes. SKNA employees regardless of level, position or tenure are responsible for upholding the safety standards regulations and policies.
• Provide excellent customer service
• Consist of multiple responsibilities: answer phones, enter orders, dispatch trucks, order materials for plant, ship/receive products
• Utilize computer program to manage & coordinate the shipping & receiving of products for various customers/jobs
• Daily communication with Central Dispatch, customers, truck drivers and sales to effectively manage customer orders/jobs
• Communication with Plant Foreman, Loader Operator and Mill Operator to be able to coordinate the loading of products in trucks according to customer orders
• Direct and monitor trucks throughout the day- Provide good clear directions to truck drivers for timely deliveries
• Resolve any issues or problems that may arise during the transportation of materials to ensure all loads reach their destination
• Manage cash/account sales and reconcile cash at end of shift
• Complete all reporting and paper work at end of shift
• Coordinate and communicate any changes to the dispatch schedule according to customer's needs
• Meet daily customer satisfaction demands by successfully completing all customer orders
• All other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

• Bilingual(English/Spanish) is strongly preferred
• Data entry skills
• Telephone skills
• Good listening & verbal communication Skills
• Dependable, be able to Multi-task, self-motivated
• Knowledge of roads & highways (Key-Maps), reliable transportation
• Knowledgeable in: Excel, Word, email, internet, GPS Units
• Experience: 1-year Dispatching /Scales, familiar with ticketing/Dispatching computer program, experience
