The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington (BGC, BGCSW, or Clubs) is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time, year-round SCHOOL BUS DRIVER!

• $500 sign on bonus after 90 days!
• $1,000 retention bonus after one year!

SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS

RESPONSIBILITIES

With supervision from the Bus Driver Coordinator, this position will:

• During the school year, transport Boys & Girls Clubs youth from school to the Clubs daily in a BGC owned bus. Routes will include multiple schools and stops.

• During the summer, transport youth and staff to/from Clubs and off-site field trip locations. Hours may increase in the summer time.

• Provide a safe riding environment for Club members.

• Provide guidance, affirm positive behavior and act as a role model to youth.

• Adhere to all policies and procedures published by Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Pass a National Background Check

• Possess a valid Washington State Driver’s License with a Class ‘B’ Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with ‘S’ endorsement and air brake restrictions lifted

• Ability to obtain and maintain a current Washington State School Bus Driver’s License

• Provide a copy of personal driving abstract/record before employment and on an annual basis. Record must be acceptable according to BGC Policy regarding drivers. Further employment is contingent on continued good driving record

• Provide copy of current Medical Examiner's Certificate

• Current CPR/First Aid certification

• Ability to read and understand road maps and other directions

• Sufficient strength and ability to operate and service school bus equipment and accessories such as fire extinguishers, highway warning kits, and first aid kits.

• Ability to implement emergency procedures and help students during emergency evacuations.

• Ability to deal calmly with students of various ages, and to maintain concentration and patience in noisy conditions

WORK SCHEDULE

Mondays, 1:20pm – 3:50pm,

Tuesday-Friday, 2:00pm-4:30pm

Hours may vary slightly depending on routes and program needs.

Hours will change in summer time. Schedule will be determined with supervisor.

• $20.00 per hour DOE
