MTY Franchising USA is looking for a Senior Accountant who will report to the Accounting Manager.

Headquartered in Montreal, and founded over 40 years ago – MTY is a global franchisee network of over 85 brands and over 7,000 locations. Familiar brands include Cold Stone Creamery, Baja Fresh, Wetzel’s Pretzels, Papa Murphy’s, Blimpie, Famous Dave’s, among many more.

The US accounting team has over 30 employees who work in offices situated across the US, primarily in Scottsdale, AZ and Vancouver, WA. ABOUT YOU

You are an individual who is a go getter and are comfortable with ambiguity and change. You are looking for an operational accounting role. You enjoy collaborating with a team, providing optimal customer service while working in an environment that supports continuous improvement and learning. Unraveling accounting puzzles is a passion of yours while deadlines add a layer of excitement. Sound like you?

Tasks include:

• Month end transactional journal entry preparation
• Monthly reconciliation and analysis of various balance sheet and P&L transactional sections
• Support monthly & quarterly control requirements related to financial reporting
• Help develop, improve, support, and identify automation opportunities for accounting processes and workflows
• Ad hoc projects

Hard skills:

• Accounting degree
• Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and to compile detailed reports
• Advanced Excel skills, including Power Pivot, Power Query, Data Modeling
• High attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Customer service orientated
• 5+ years accounting or auditing experience preferred
• Prior experience with Sage, SAP, or Great Plains is preferred
• CPA designation is an asset
• Prior experience in ERP/software transformation projects is an asset

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
