Immediately Hiring a Senior Cloud Engineer. The ideal candidate will be a thought leader, continually improving people, process and tools, and have a breadth and depth of cloud experience, ideally with a career starting out in software development and applying those processes and rigors to the cloud. You will be well versed in AWS and/or Azure networking, identity-access management, managed services, docker, Kubernetes, and at least one high level programming language, such as Java or NodeJS.

Responsibilities

  • Define architectures for complex, cloud-based solutions, balancing options for cost, performance, reliability, and security with business needs.
  • Recommend improvements to existing infrastructure and cloud-based solutions and developing plans for growth.
  • Create new resources via infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and import existing resources to IaC.
  • Actively participate in code reviews, tool evaluations, and architecture reviews.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure that cloud-based solutions function and scale properly
  • Promote and document best practices for cloud-based software development teams.
  • Build and validate new tools and cloud services and create reference architectures for cloud-based solutions.
  • Troubleshoot issues with existing cloud-based applications and network resources to identify root causes and resolve issues quickly.

Qualifications

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology or Software Engineering.
  • 6+ years designing, building, monitoring, and supporting cloud-based solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead highly technical teams to deliver cloud-based solutions.
  • Experience working in large scale cloud environments with cross functional teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, naturally curious, and continual improvement mindset

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with containerization, from AWS Lambda and Azure Functions to Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience designing and configuring network resources and diagnosing network-related issues.
  • Experience with observability platforms, such as New Relic, Logz.io, Data Dog and/or Sumo Logic.
  • Experience with Jenkins and Groovy.
