Job description
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for P&L and Inventory management, as well as strategic financial and operational analysis, supporting Leadership at VS&Co. Analyzes and forecasts financial performance in comparison to established Targets. Partners cross functionally to drive integration across all divisions of Supply Chain and Corporate FP&A. In addition, this role will focus on ad hoc projects to position the Enterprise for future growth. Reports to the Manager of Supply Chain Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
Forecasting
- P&L and Inventory management: provide accurate and detailed forecasts that highlight risks and opportunities
- Support both monthly and quarterly close processes, through reporting and communicating variance insights
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sourcing and Production, Logistics, FP&A, and Brand Finance teams to develop accurate forecasts
- Evaluate and analyze business risks / opportunities and changes to business strategy
- Consolidation of VS Supply Chain Line of Business Financials
Budget
- Build total season view of Sales, Margin, OCOGS, Inventory and ensure it aligns with financial objectives of the Enterprise
- Present range of outcomes and key assumptions to help align leaders to the proposed P&L positioning
- Identify opportunities to maximize gross margin during the budget process
Ad Hoc Analysis
- Ability to mine large data sets to facilitate both strategic thinking and tactical decision making
- Support ad hoc analytical project work, with the goal of consistently accurate information and analyses
- Complete seasonal hindsight, drawing key insights to inform future budgeting strategy and in-season variance explanations
Must possess the ability to:
- Convey complex topics in clear and easily understood manner to both financial & non-financial partners
- Refine existing financial models, and develop new models, to better predict and influence operating expense performance and to identify/minimize risks
- Identify opportunities to leverage new technology and financial tools to streamline processes and increase productivity
- Manage multiple work streams concurrently while effectively prioritizing them
- Ability to think creatively, focus on continuous improvement, and demonstrate the drive to achieve results
- Build strong formal and informal relationships to enable business influence which appropriately balances financial management with supporting business needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required
- Three to five years of financial experience, specifically in the areas of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, general ledger, accounting management
- Experience with SAP, Hyperion, Essbase, preferred
- Experience in retail or apparel manufacturing environment a plus
- Strong oral and written presentation skills
- Advanced PC skills including Excel, Access and PowerPoint
