Our Sr Manager, Center for Nursing Leadership is responsible for the development of programs and initiatives to meet the needs of nursing leaders identified as novice, developing, and executive level perioperative nurses. The Sr Manager of CNL cultivates and collaborates in the overall vision, design and execution of educational activities consistent with the needs assessments and environmental scans obtained from the members and client feedback. In collaboration with stakeholders, the Sr Manager will be responsible for developing the education programs, projects and services delivered on time within budget and consistent with accreditation standards.


AORN is based in Denver, CO. This position has the opportunity to work remotely.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders in conducting environmental scans, focus groups or surveys to ascertain needs of the targeted nursing leadership audience.
  • Responsible for developing and/or securing products and services aimed at meeting the needs of the novice, developing and executive level perioperative nurse leaders.
  • Understands customer needs, marketplace dynamics, key trends, and the competitive landscape for effective execution of the Center for Nursing Leaderships Business Plan.
  • Works collaboratively with stakeholders to systematically evaluate the business plan, ensuring relevancy and return on investment.
  • In collaboration with the stakeholders, develops strategies for leveraging the influence of the nursing leadership audience with a goal of increasing sales of AORNs products, services and enhanced opportunities for partnerships with medical device vendors.
  • Develops metrics to measure performance and customer satisfaction for program content. Reports metrics to AORN internal and external stakeholders.
  • Applies critical thinking, innovation, and effective communication skills to convey content objectives and status of operational plan.
  • Works closely with the stakeholders and support teams to ensure coordinated effort and to leverage synergies and opportunities that may exist for content development and implementation.
  • Collaborates with the AORN Foundation to prepare grant proposals to fund resources for the Center for Nursing Leadership.
  • Responsible for developing the annual budget; conducts research and data analysis for new product development initiatives.
  • Works closely with the stakeholders and Nursing Education to achieve optimal outcomes and results for all program offerings and CNL initiatives.
  • Responsible for representing CNL goals and objectives to internal and external stakeholders and customers. Serves as a facilitator at educational events.
  • Stakeholders include Healthcare Organizations (HCO), Industry sales, Pfiedler Education, AORN Foundation and Marketing.

Must Haves to be our Sr Manager, Center for Nursing Leadership:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • CNOR or CSSM certification.
  • At least 7 years of perioperative nursing with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership position.
  • Knowledge of AORN products/services, healthcare regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Experience with adult education, product management and organizational development.
  • Previous experience working on teams and in a matrix environment.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated ability to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and team building.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a remote work environment.
  • Maintains awareness of healthcare trends, regulations, national standards, patient care issues and advancements in technology through formal and informal training and development opportunities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and internet applications.
  • Comprehension of management theories and principles of adult education.
  • Excellent public speaking, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to function independently, collaboratively and with excellent critical-thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Analytical thinking skills and the ability to conceptualize new products and services based on trends and market data.
  • Strong business process mapping and organization skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs, work with volunteers, negotiate complex matters and contribute to the AORN leadership team.
  • Proven ability to work successfully with senior management.
  • Politically savvy and the ability to work successfully to navigate the many demands and requests from members, board, staff, industry, and others.
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to and hold others accountable for organizational values of diversity, equity & inclusiveness, innovation, communication, quality, and achievement.

  • Competitive salary, for this role our salary range is $128,000 - $134,000.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Ability to work remotely and maintain high quality products and productivity. Use a computer, telephone, and Microsoft Teams daily. Ability to travel as needed to visit customers, pursue business development opportunities, and attend annual conference is required.
