What the Sterile Processing Technician Trainee (SPT) will do:

  • Trainee role; performs Processing Technician duties while studying toward certification, within limits of current training; work is guided and overseen by a Professional Development Specialist and certified Processing Technicians.
  • Works in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of a certified professional in the Sterile Processing department.
  • Upon completion of the training program, team member will be able to perform all of the basic aspects of a Sterile Processing Technician, including, but not limited to: Decontamination, instrument inspection, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, case cart assembly and basic inventory management.
  • May be required to enter an active surgical case to pick up and/or deliver instruments for a needed case.
  • This will require a basic knowledge of a sterile field and moving within a sterile environment.
  • Will be required to document worked performed within various computer applications and equipment logs.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Full Time
  • 40 hours per week
  • 3rd shift (Will train on First Shift for 6 Months)
