ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and report accurate inventory levels.
- Fulfillment of Internal and external requisitions
- Responsibility for monthly and cruise end inventories as well as daily cycle counts
- Management, control, security, and organization of all stores
- Management of storekeepers (where applicable)
- Creation of order templates – ship specific
- Builds and transmits Purchase Orders from external requisitions for standard weekly items such as food, consumables, chemicals, and durables)
- Ensures all items being issued from Stores has an internal requisition.
- Provide a level of purchasing scrutiny and diligence to ensure excessive or unusual requests are reported to management.
- Placement, management, and accurate physical receipt of Purchase Orders
- Receipt of Purchase Orders and Invoices into our MXP system
- Submission and management of receiving discrepancy reports to vendors and reporting same to hotel manager; follow up on all reports until resolved.
- Maintenance of vendor scorecards
- Management of returned goods and their credits.
- Updating vendors and managing logistics of deliveries in the event of itinerary or schedule changes
- Reports foods costs to Hotel Director, Executive Chef
- Performs monthly audits of all stores, counts and inventories.
- Keep Hotel Director closely informed; especially of issues which may negatively affect availability of supplies to internal and external customers if resolution cannot be identified.
- Weekly reporting of successes and obstacles to Hotel Director
- Participate and ensure participation of all USCG mandated drills and emergency procedures as directed.
- Actively participates in embarking duties such as loading, unloading, luggage carrying, etc., as needed.
- Performs other duties if required since above stated describe only a regular working day and may not be inclusive of every task needed to achieve results.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- HS Diploma or Equivalent Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business or finance required.
- Valid ServeSafe Food Handler certification or ability to acquire and maintain.
- Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) – if applicable, and/or ability to obtain and maintain
- Copy of DD214, if Veteran status
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with MS Office applications
- Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with varying deadlines.
- Two to four years of experience in a position in a related field with similar duties and responsibilities
- Cruise industry experience preferred.
- Must submit to and pass mandated USCG physical.
- Ability to meet and maintain the maximum onboard bunk bed capacity of 300 lbs.
- Ability to conduct work in a marine environment that is subject to some/all the following: confined spaces, uneven surfaces, variations in temperature, wake, and motion.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the USCG including but not limited to
