Sustainable Systems Agronomist


YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is residence based near Midwest region close to business needs.


The primary responsibilities of this role, Sustainable Systems Agronomist, are to:


  • Provide grower education through one on one conversations, presentations at grower meetings and workshops, and education of partners;
  • Provide direct support to growers in implementation of regenerative agricultural practices for participation in the U.S. Bayer Carbon program;
  • Increase grower enrollment in the U.S. Bayer Carbon program;
  • Increase grower retention and satisfaction in the U.S. Bayer Carbon program;
  • Support verification and validation of climate smart practice adoption;
  • Provide technical support and training for seed dealers and Bayer sales team and other channel partners;
  • Work with key stakeholders to increase understanding of the U.S. Bayer Carbon program;
  • Create a pipeline of growers to enroll in the U.S. Bayer Carbon program through key partnerships;
  • Communicate the regenerative agricultural practices and the key benefits, including enrollment in the U.S. Bayer Carbon program;
  • Develop and instill confidence in regenerative agricultural recommendations;
  • Support Field Sales Representatives (FSRs), TPAMs, CBAs with agronomy related questions about the U.S. Bayer Carbon program;
  • Build presence and credibility with key growers, seed dealers, crop consultants and other key third party stakeholders;
  • Demonstrate breadth of perspective and business acumen;
  • Travel approximately 60%;
  • Ensure compliance with Bayer safety and vehicle safety policies;
  • Ensure enablement of sales team and customer success for the U.S. Bayer Carbon program;
  • Communicate needs of growers to the U.S. Bayer Carbon program;
  • Check the area impact on business results for the Sales Team in the U.S. Bayer Carbon program enrollment targets;
  • Recommend and initiate new projects;
  • Deliver high quality work, exercise good judgement, and make independent decisions without immediate supervision;
  • Provide some constructive, solution-based input and contributes ideas to achieve organization goals;
  • Ensure regenerative Agronomy grower engagement model to achieve business objectives;
  • Ensure product stewardship and use recommendations for the local territory.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree;
  • Experience agriculture or related discipline such as agronomy, sales, field development or Research & Development


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science with at least eight years of experience;
  • Experience in regenerative and conservation agricultural practices such as reduced or no-till systems, cover crops and/or crop rotations.
  • Ten years of experience with Bachelors degree or or Ph.D. degree in agriculture or related discipline with at least four years of experience in agronomy, sales, field development or Research & Development related roles (degree has to be completed by start date).


Relocation may be offered for this role.
