Job Summary


Provides human resources generalist support to all School District of Philadelphia employees beginning with the initial processing of a new hire or reclassified employee and throughout the employee’s lifecycle. Ensures the effective processing all new hires and the efficient and seamless transition of current employees across various roles and classifications. Maintains employee records in the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and all related databases in accordance with District policies and procedures.


Essential Functions

  • Provides ongoing generalist support to employees for such matters as name changes, resignations, site selection, special assignments leaves, including the Family Medical Leave Act, payroll issues, site selection and special assignments.
  • Manages all aspects of new hire and reclassified employees processing sessions including registration, facilitation and process management to ensure that newly placed employees are cleared to begin working in a reasonable timeframe.
  • Works closely with new employees and reclassified employees to outline processing requirements, update status, and provide pertinent information related to the submission of clearances, applicable certifications, and health documents.
  • Reviews employee documentation to ensure compliance with School District, state and federal laws.
  • Completes all HRIS entry for all classifications of employees including new hires, reclassified employees, and employees with salary changes or status changes.
  • Maintains employee HRIS and related databases; ensures information is accurate and up-to-date; serves as the primary point of contact for designated learning networks.
  • Serves as the primary liaison processing system transactions and updating employee statuses for all central-offices.
  • Provides dedicated human resources support to central office operations departments which includes Food Services, Transportation, Facilities, Maintenance and School Safety.
  • Manages employee physical records including file batching and submits required information to satisfy auditing requests.
  • Reviews system audit reports and take action on erroneous data.
  • Responds to incoming inquiries and requests via the general phone line and through the departmental e-mail; resolves and escalates matters as applicable.
  • Works closely with school-based administrators, Talent Partners and Employee Relations to investigate and resolve incidents.
  • Manages all aspects of employee movement including reclassification, forced transfers, bid sessions, site selection and leveling; prepares and sends mass-communications, responds to employee inquiries, facilitates sessions, and completes all subsequent system transactions and updates.
  • Serves as the primary liaison for researching and resolving issues raised by the collective bargaining agreements.
  • Builds positive and productive relationships with TSS colleagues and external departments
  • Ensures cross-functional alignment within the Office of Talent.
Qualifications


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Three years of full-time, paid, professional experience in human resources, recruitment, and/or admissions/selection.

OR

  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training determined to be acceptable by the Office of Talent.
