UPS Field Service Technician - Uninterrupted Power Supply

Job Summary:
Are you an uninterruptible power supply Field Service Engineer with impressive customer service abilities? Odyssey Power Corporation seeks a Northern California engineer to join our growing team. The UPS Field Service Engineer will provide technical services to our valued customers with a solid commitment to quality service.
Essential Duties:
- Power Audits of customer’s distribution systems
- Perform crucial duties across single-phase, 3-phase UPS Systems, Switch Gear, Battery Plants, DC Plants, inverters, ATS and associated peripherals of various makes, models, and sizes and product lines product lines:
1. Technical site analysis
2. Remedial maintenance & repairs
3. Startup/Commissioning
4. Perform preventive maintenance
5. Unscheduled maintenance and repairs (up to 1000 kVA)
- Work with the OEMs for UPS Systems Software upgrades and other OEM-required repairs
- Stay current in all aspects of revisions, updates, and new additions to UPS Systems of different makes and models
- Maintain the integrity of site information and provide updates to the UPS Supervisor & UPS Service Manager
- Train other Field Service Engineers on product knowledge when required
- Document all required information for each site visit
- Properly document, label, and return all defective parts utilized in the repair of UPS System equipment to the designated disposal/repair location
Requirements/Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience or related training with systems: single-phase, 3-phase UPS Systems, Switch Gear, Battery Plants, DC Plants, inverters, ATS, and associated peripherals
- Fundamental knowledge of electrical distribution systems, basic test and measurement equipment, IEEE requirements, and electronic principles
- Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems (e.g., generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units)
- Valid State Driver’s License and clear driving record
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong self-management skills
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- 1.5 hour drive time from Dublin, California
