With the belief that they were there when we needed them, so we must be there now that they need us, Veterans Inc., the largest provider of supportive services to Veterans and their families in New England is seeking to fill the Development Coordinator position and become a valued member of the Veterans Inc. team!

Under the general direction of the Senior Leadership Giving Officer, the Volunteer Coordinator is a key member of the Development team and is responsible for leading agency efforts in the overall coordination of community and volunteer activities.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY:

  • Recruit/Retain volunteers to assist in all areas of the volunteer program throughout New England.
  • Responsible for entering, reviewing all volunteer Criminal Background Records Check.
  • Check/Respond to the approved volunteer email.
  • Responsible for maintaining/scheduling volunteer requests in approved volunteer calendar.
  • Conduct yearly volunteer evaluations.
  • Responsible for assuring all volunteer records are up to date with appropriate paperwork.
  • Responsible for monthly volunteer hours report.
  • Responsible for creating and updating volunteer paperwork, descriptions, and policies/procedures.
  • Assist with nominating volunteers for external awards.
  • Point of contact for donation drives and fundraising event inquiries run by volunteers or community members.
  • Run/Coordinate the volunteer info session meetings.
  • Assist with the coordination of Memorial Day and Veterans Day activities.
  • Assist with the annual volunteer appreciation event.
  • Point of contact for rental event inquiries and outside groups wanting to use Veterans Inc.
  • Other special projects and duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Minimum of Bachelors degree in Human Services, Business, Nonprofit Management or other related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience (paid or unpaid) in a business office setting with nonprofit, volunteers coordination and donations management experience.
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision and exercise judgment and discretion on behalf of the agency.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Power Point/Outlook/Publisher) and DonorPerfect software.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a CORI/Background records check.
  • Compliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. Religious and Medical Exemptions are considered.
