Overview:

The
VP, Digital Technology Group is a pivotal regional leadership role acting as the senior bridge between the Americas business and both tactical and strategic digital and technology initiatives. As the VP, you will direct the local planning, prioritization, and implementation of Business and Enterprise product and technology initiatives in support of the America’s business plan.

In addition, you are jointly responsible to both the America’s EVP and the Group CTO to ensure continuity between regional business strategy/operations and Element’s global product and technology efforts.
Responsibilities:
Strategy & Planning
- Participate in strategic and technology operational governance processes of the Americas business as well as contributing to overall Element product and technology strategy
- Represent DTG at all regional meetings and forums on strategic and operational planning to achieve individual business goals by fostering collaboration, prioritizing both tactical and strategic technology initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technology solutions across the region
- Develop and maintain an appropriate organizational structure that supports the needs of the Americas business and complements both Element and DTG’s global structure
- Establish Americas regional goals for DTG, setting objectives, overseeing operating procedures, and communicating these with internal stakeholders
- Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in technology products and systems, including reviewing staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and development inputs to ensure success and to further the commercial objectives of the region
- Manage, assess and communicate risks (technology, operational, security etc) associated with business and technology change activities to key stakeholders and the Operating Board
- Oversee regional spend on technology to ensure it delivers sustained and identifiable benefits to the America’s business
- Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for business technology spending and initiatives
Operational Management
- Monitor and ensure continuous delivery of quality technology services through oversight of intra-group and third party service level agreements with the America’s business and the appropriate leverage of the Global Technology organisation
- Ensure IT systems operation and data management practices adhere to applicable laws and regulations
- Keep current with trends and issues in the technology industry, including current technologies and prices. Advise, counsel, and educate regional executives and management on their competitive or financial impact
- Leading, shaping and developing a high performance team specifically in support of the region and individual BUs. Develop relationships across the global technology group that includes support operations, infrastructure, business applications and security
- Provide relevant Management Information (MI) and metrics to track progress against projects and operational performance to both regional and global leadership, and help the CTO and operating board make more informed decisions around technology investment in the region
- Manage, control and evolve third party technology relationships to deliver high performing and effective partnerships
- Experience of technology strategy definition and implementation
- A proven track record of outstanding planning and project delivery, with particular focus on operational excellence, in a complex multi-site, international enterprise environment
- Recent experience of delivering a transformational change programme (People, Process, Technology)
- A strong technical background that includes an understanding of applications, infrastructure services and architecture
- Excellent knowledge of cloud based computing services, collaboration products, technologies and current trends
- A proven and demonstrable leadership, mentoring and coaching ability
- Experience of leading and shaping multi-disciplined, high performance teams
- Strong ability to communicate technical ideas to non-technical audiences
- The ability to manage, forecast and control multi-million opex and capex expenditure and build robust ROI business cases
- Highly effective in a structured, matrix environment using influence and strategic planning to use the full scale of DTG to demonstrable commercial impact in the delivery of technology solutions.
- Extensive vendor / third party negotiation and management experience, ideally including experience of outsource agreements
- Experience of working at a strategic level to be credible and operate effectively at and contribute to the broader Digital and Technology leadership team
- Strong influencing skills to work effectively with the Operating Board, the Digital and Technology peer group and business stakeholders include BU GMs and BU VPs
- An abundance of common sense and flexibility to deliver and prioritise in a high change environment
