Job description
- The Water/Wastewater Operator will operate, perform repairs, and maintain the water and waste water treatment plant.
- Operates pumps, motors, and valves to control and adjust flow and processing of waste water, sludge and effluent.
- Monitors gauges, meters, control panels, SCADA and Lift Stations
- Operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control
- Collects permit and process samples and performs laboratory process tests and analyses
- Performs maintenance functions as needed in the waste water facility
- The Water/Wastewater Operator will be expected to obtain a Class “D” Ground Water Treatment license within 6 months of start date.
- Water/Wastewater Operator will work in the Water Production Facility as well as the Wastewater facilities.
- The Water/Wastewater Operator will be required to maintain their Class “C” Water/Wastewater License.
- Working knowledge of Wetlands and Evaporation Ponds a plus
- This position reports to the Water Plant Manager
Qualifications:
- Computer skills; MS Word, MS Excel and SCADA systems
- High School diploma or GED required
- Valid Texas Wastewater Operator Class “C” License is required
- Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License
