Navistar has an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Consultant. The Health and Safety Consultant. In this position you will be responsible for developing and implementing and monitoring safety and/or environmental programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You will also monitor industrial health compliance.
Responsibilities:- Develops, implements, and monitors company safety and/or environmental programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- May perform periodic safety inspections, conduct accident investigations and coordinate with the production and medical departments.
- Interacting with a variety of departments, may conduct training in emergency response and hazardous material handling.
- May monitor environmental compliance and maintain liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies.
- Recommends corrective action where environmental health and/or safety hazards exist.
- May assist with the Corporate administration of the worker’s compensation claims as needed.
- Monitors industrial health compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 5 years of environmental health or safety experience
- Master’s degree
- At least 3 years of environmental health or safety experience
- At least 7 years of environmental health or safety experience

- Experience with the plant personnel to focus on safety, health, and environmental aspects of the business.
- Shown Ability to adapt well to change and implementation of new EH&S policies and procedures
- Experience on the shop floor to ensure EH&S needs are met for the employees of the plant
- Experience with finding solutions and assist in being a sustainable facility
- Proven ability to train, guide and mentor others with less experience.
