This position is based out of our Westlake, OH office and eligible for a hybrid schedule.

JOB OVERVIEW:
The Enterprise Architect role is critical to the company's overall success, ensuring technology and application architecture decisions are implemented to support the business and technology strategy. The primary focus of the role is IT cost savings and reducing technical debt for the organization. Responsible for scaling the enterprises’ existing and new capabilities quickly, while meeting a diverse and disparate set of business and technology stakeholder needs, and not burdening the organization with future complexity.
The Enterprise Architect provides integrated systems analysis and recommends appropriate hardware, software, and communication links to support IT goals and strategy. In addition, the Enterprise Architect is responsible for analyzing and incorporating, where appropriate, industry trends and being familiar with enterprise standards and methodology. They will also research, analyze, design, propose, and deliver IT architecture solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
  • Ensures business and technology leaders have adopted an architectural approach for digital and technology change.
  • Develops interoperability standards and protocols and ensures they are observed.
  • Confirms the annual tech budget is aligned with the approved architecture strategy and roadmaps.
  • Establishes standards for forward architecture qualities, such as: agility, robustness, elasticity, scalability; ensuring they are improved with any spend.
  • Ensures an architecture governance council is established and effective.
  • Responsible for enterprise patterns being developed and used.
  • Creates digital-first, digital-by-design, and cloud-first implementation standards.
  • Develops strategies, principles, and roadmaps in alignment with business strategies and objectives.
  • Adheres to budgetary, project, and program governance to applicable strategies, principles, and roadmaps.
  • Oversees innovation, future products, and tech selection.
  • Defines and evangelizes guiding principles to shape the kinds of cloud, application, data, platform, and security solutions that deliver the enterprise architecture in total.
  • Establishes data as an enterprise asset. Whether at rest or in motion, important data (not all data) must have a common business and technical definition and a well-defined and standardized interface realized by an API specification. As well as appropriate data quality and compliance processes monitored by data stewards and owners.
  • Implements processes for keeping applications up to date.
  • Ensures systems are mobile-accessible. All internal and external web apps will be capable of running on iOS and Android. Any web apps that cannot run on both iOS and Android must be migrated to the authorized digital-first cloud platform(s).
  • Interacts with business strategists, comprehends design impact on systems, and develops measurable business cases that support architecture.
  • Serves as an architecture conduit for external requests and queries and provides education on enterprise architecture directions and goals.
  • Works with developers utilizing cross-functional knowledge (strategy, change management, and business process management).
  • Analyzes IT industry and market trends, determines the potential impact upon the enterprise, and identifies and analyzes enterprise business drivers to derive enterprise business, information, technical, and solution architecture requirements.
  • Implements an overall architecture approach for all solution layers (Infrastructure, Data, Application Services, Applications, data, etc.).
  • Ensures that enterprise architecture standards, policies, and procedures are enacted uniformly across application development projects and programs.

QUALIFICATIONS :
  • 5 to 10 years of IT experience – applications; application infrastructure; infrastructure as code
  • Strong communication, analytical, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science (or equivalent work experience)
  • Strong knowledge of financial services processes and solutions

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
To be successful in this role, you should have experience with and an understanding of the following:
  • Micro-services and Micro-service Integrations
  • Understand and have practical experience integrating cloud and on-premise infrastructure
  • “Dev/Sec/Ops” and continuous development experience
  • Familiarity with commercial and open-source solutions
  • Salesforce, .Net development, microservices, application messaging, etc.

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to speak and hear. The associate is frequently required to sit for extended periods, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. This job requires lifting files, opening filing cabinets, and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.
