Cary Cardiology, P.A. is a multi-specialty cardiovascular group providing exceptional heart and vascular services convenient locations across the Triangle North Carolina area including Cary, Fuquay-Varina, Dunn, and Benson.

Our team of highly skilled cardiovascular experts excels in all aspects of coronary, vein, and artery health in adults. We treat a comprehensive range of conditions including aortic stenosis, arrhythmia, coronary artery disease (CAD), deep venous thrombosis (DVT), peripheral arterial disease (PAD), chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), and high blood pressure.

At Cary Cardiology, P.A. we also diagnose and treat the common cardiac symptoms such as an irregular heartbeat, palpitations, and chest pain using diagnostics like EKG (electrocardiography), echocardiography, stress testing, ultrasounds, and cardiac monitoring.

Additionally, we offer more specialized services under the care of our electrophysiology and vascular specialty teams. Working with leading medical technology companies such as Sigvaris, Medtronic, St Jude/Abbott, Biotronik, and Boston Scientific we employ state-of-the-art treatment options. Procedures may include cardiac ablation, balloon angioplasty, electrical cardioversion, loop recorder implantation, RF laser ablation for varicose vein treatment, venaseal, and more.

Position Information

As a member of our Outpatient Nuclear Medicine Team, you will work both independently and collaboratively as a team to provide excellent diagnostic services to a wide variety of adult patients.

Job description

We currently provide Nuclear Medicine services full time Monday through Friday in our Cary office location and two days a week in our Fuquay-Varina location. We are looking to add to our team in order to further grow our ability to offer services in our Fuquay-Varina location while maintaining our service offering in Cary.

As one of our team members, you will utilize your skills and expertise perform diagnostic studies in a high volume atmosphere while maintaining safety, following protocols, and following provider orders.

Position Requirements:

Graduate of an approved school of nuclear medicine technology required

BLS required

ACLS preferred

Registered with AART or NMTCB

State license required

Experience performing Prone SPECT preferred

EPIC EHR experience preferred

AGFA Experience beneficial

Position Duties Include:

  • Prepare and inject radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic testing
  • Document procedures and administration of radiopharmaceuticals to patients
  • Record the receipt of radiopharmaceuticals
  • Perform and record daily, weekly, and monthly quality assurance procedures
  • Report contamination and repair needs
  • Inform physician of urgent cases for review while the physician is still in the office.
  • Utilize knowledge and expertise to assist physicians in pointing out abnormalities and areas with problems with cardiac function.
  • Answer patient questions regarding procedure and equipment. Adequately explain the procedure prior to performing studies.
  • Act as a liaison between patient and physician and nursing team.
  • Maintain all equipment, ensuring functionality and reporting issues to supervision.
  • Use proper cleaning and storage procedures to prevent damage to equipment.
  • Perform studies per accreditation standards and established office protocols.
  • Cleaning and stocking exam rooms when necessary.
  • Utilize the Epic Tech Worklist to begin and end exams which allows for proper dictation by physician and billing information to transfer within the system.
  • Review orders for all study appointments along with valid diagnosis.
  • Ensure orders are linked to appointments to ensure images will merge properly from AGFA system into the patient’s Epic chart.
  • Follow office protocols regarding physician assignment, chart placement for dictation, and input of correct information into the AGFA system.
  • Maintain a current study log which will be provided to the billing department on a monthly basis to ensure no visits are missing in the billing work queue.
  • Participate in quality assurance program and complete all studies according to protocol.
  • Maintain and observe all OSHA standards.
  • Other duties may be assigned by supervisor or manager as needed.
