Position Function:
To supervise the service department of the specified Door Services location that services and repairs Commercial/Retail Automatic Doors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage the day-to-day workflow for the service department and direct the service technicians’ schedules and responsibilities.
- Review and approve all Service Tickets in Oracle within 24 hours so billing can process.
- Responsible for managing the relationships of new and existing customers.
- Schedule the day-to-day operations and coordinate with dispatcher.
- Provide oversight during the new technician training process and observe the work of the Technicians assisting where required.
- Evaluate and ensure prior to commencement of work, that the appropriate tools and equipment are working and/or available.
- Analyze the needs of each job and establish when required.
- Determine if work needs to be performed and identify the measures needed to assure approved services of product.
- Responsible for documenting the work to be performed and reviewing with the customer.
- Responsible for overseeing the care and maintenance of equipment, tools and vehicles provided by Door Services Corporation.
- Maintain that the appropriate parts inventory is in the company vehicles and ensure that items are available for service work.
- Represent Door Services with customers and present them in a professional demeanor.
- Oversee and direct the service technicians to ensure that an explanation of the work to be performed and work finished is provided including a complete description of operating functions, safety systems, operator controls and proper customer maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Mechanical and Electrical skills are required. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Door Industry is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to calculate basic math and read a tape measure.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid driver’s license.

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in many different environments including hospitals, pharmaceuticals facilities, business offices and retail locations and is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.

Pay: $64,000.00 per year
