Laitram Machinery, Inc. has a position available for a Sheet Metal Fabricator to operator our press brake. This individual will be responsible for helping in all areas related to sheet metal fabricating.

Responsibilities
- Set up and process sheet metal parts per drawing
- Keep machine/ tooling well organized and clean. (routine maintenance)
- Assist in all areas of fabricating on shop floor (Deburr, weld cleaning, material handling, etc.)
- QC at the source / check your work before moving on to next routing
- Use off-line programming software to aid in bending complex parts
- Use computer software to perform transactions and capture labor to each job
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in operation of press brake
- Able to interpret sheet metal drawings/understand bend sequencing
- Above average math skills
- Be able to identify and use basic hand tools
- Willing to cross train in other work centers as needed
- Capability of learning manufacturing software being used on shop floor
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Able to work overtime/ some travel may be required
- Self–managed, team player
- Have a good attitude and a passion for doing a job well
- Must be detailed oriented and be able to follow instructions
- Must be able to perform the essential job requirements identified in the Functional Job Description for this position, including the ability to lift and move 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience on operating / programming CNC controlled press brake
- Prior knowledge/experience operating a Bystronic Press Brake
- FMA or other Press Brake Operation certifications
- Experience in some trade – mechanic, fabrication work, carpentry, machine tools, etc.
- Prior experience in a Fabrication environment
