INNOCEAN USA, a full-service ad agency located in sunny Huntington Beach, CA, is seeking a VP, Group Account Director, Digital, to join our growing team!
This is a hybrid role.
The VP, Group Account Director oversees the team in executing digital projects on behalf of our clients. The ideal candidate has previous experience in an agency or client services environment and will have managed multiple teams across a variety of digital / web projects simultaneously to successful completion.
DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The digital account team is responsible for website, CRM, digital media creative and other digital product executions for our clients. We are a team of specialists and subject matter experts with a deep understanding of our clients’ business and user behavior across our digital experiences.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Digital
- Expert of digital channels including but not limited to website marketing, Adobe products, Salesforce, CRM, paid digital media and paid social media.
- Demonstrate shift from project management to client management and the ability to cross-sell/up-sell additional services or program enhancements.
- Understand data analytics and develop strategies to increase performance across digital channels.
- Effectively collaborate with strategy, production, project management, media creative and data science teams. Guide internal teams so that they are clear and aligned on what we are doing and where we are heading.
Business/Marketing
- Build a solid understanding of the client’s business, economics, major customer segments and competitive set, as well as business information (qualitative and quantitative).
- Provide marketing and creative recommendations and strategies based on customer, channel, business, and brand insight.
- Identify new business opportunities within current client engagement to deepen the relationship. Leverage agency and client knowledge to identify growth opportunities and sell in new services.
Leadership
- Serve as a passionate and visible leader of business, marketing, customer and brand insight in internal and external meetings.
- Partner with clients in a positive, professional and constructive way, establishing solid long-term relationships.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to working-level account teams.
- Understand and articulate client strategy and steer it with insight when required.
- Demonstrate flexibility and “read” situations in order to react appropriately and solve issues.
- Manage expectations that are beyond particular scope, but crucial to success.
- Escalate issues and risks in complex situations.
Financial / Project Management
- Manages entire programs independently, adhering to agency process, working effectively with all capabilities and using their expertise appropriately.
- Ensure team members take personal accountability for on-time, on-budget, quality execution.
- Proactively manage and communicate between scope, schedule and budget with clients, partners and internally, on an ongoing basis.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of experience managing digital marketing projects in an ad agency environment.
- Have worked at an advertising agency, digital or full-service.
- Automotive experience highly preferred.
- Previous experience in a management role.
- Experience and working technical knowledge of website, CRM and paid media campaigns.
- Demonstrated success building productive relationships with clients and agency team members.
- Ability to think strategically and work autonomously.
- Direct, assertive, fearless and ready for the challenge.
- Thorough understanding of advertising agency process.
- Polished written and oral presentation skills.
- Excellent project management and ability to provide team leadership and strategic direction to diverse, multi-location groups.
- Flexible and accepting of ever-changing needs.
- Multi-tasking, problem solving and ability to prioritize.
- Experience managing client budgets, billing, timelines, staffing.
- Ability to inspire the talent and creativity of team members and direct reports.

The salary range for this role is $200,000 -$260,000. Pay is dependent upon several factors including but not limited to: client, experience, training and/or transferable skills.
